     LOCATION.-- England,Essex, 8 miles north-east of London and 4 miles north-west of Romford. Fairlop Aerodrome is 3/4 mile to the west.                

    Railway Stations:- Claybury Halt ((G.E. RIy.), 1 1/2 miles.  Goodmayes (G.E. Rly.), 1 3/4  miles.

    Road:- Second-class road  passes the site·

    FUNCTION.--Home Defence Station for No. 44  squadron (6th Brigade).    This Squadron  carries out Wireless Telephony duties.

     AERODROME
:--Maximum dimensions in yards, 950× 750. Area, I00 acres, of which
12 acres are occupied by the Station Buildings. Height above sea level, 140 feet. Soil, clay. Surface. moderate, undulating and rough. Wet in winter. General surroundings' open, undulating with large fields in the neighbourhood of the aerodrome.
